Michael Armitage presents his first exhibition in Africa at the Norval Foundation in Cape Town. The show, titled 'Accomplice', features a cycle of eight oil paintings completed on traditional lubugo bark cloth and a selection of preparatory ink drawings created by the artist in the two years since the 2017 Kenyan elections. Through these works, Armitage explores representations of the body politic and connects images of contemporary East Africa to traditions of Western figurative painting.
