Gilbert & George return to West Palm Beach after almost 40 years with White Cube exhibition and event at the Norton

Posted:

White Cube is pleased to announce an exhibition of new pictures and two special events with Gilbert & George in West Palm Beach, Florida.Shown in the US for the first time, ‘THE CORPSING PICTURES’ are the most profoundly personal and confrontational art created by Gilbert & George to date.

To celebrate their return to Florida, Gilbert & George will host an evening reception at White Cube West Palm Beach on Thursday 20 April 2023, followed by a public ‘In Conversation’ at the Norton Museum of Art on Friday 21 April 2023 with curator Michael Rooks (Wieland Family Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, High Museum of Art). The event at the Norton marks almost 40 years since Gilbert & George’s eponymous solo exhibition at the museum in 1984.

‘THE CORPSING PICTURES’ will also be on show at White Cube Mason’s Yard, London, to coincide with the unveiling of the artist’s long-awaited art space, The Gilbert & George Centre. Located in Spitalfields, East London, where they have lived and worked for over 50 years, The Gilbert & George Centre opens to the public on 1 April 2023.
