Rachel Kneebone '399 Days' at Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Posted:

10 July 2021 – 24 April 2022

Rachel Kneebone: 399 Days opens on 10 July at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Installed in the 18th century chapel, this monumental sculpture was first displayed in the sculpture court of the V&A, London, close to Trajan's Column, on which it draws. Titled after the length of time it took to make, the intricately detailed work measures over 5m in height, and comprises partial and whole figurative and abstract forms over 63 exterior panels. Showcasing Kneebone's deft manipulation of porcelain and her interest in transient, metamorphic states, it explores the classical and fundamental themes bound up with the human condition.
