Opening this October, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum presents ‘Freedom in Form: Richard Hunt’. Celebrating Hunt’s achievements within the broader narrative of Black emancipation and the enduring struggle for freedom, this exhibition reflects how history and heritage informed Hunt’s seven-decade career.

‘Freedom in Form' features major works by Hunt along with maquettes of some of his public sculptures. In addition, the exhibition evokes a sense of his artistic process developed in his Chicago studio, immersing visitors in Hunt’s presence through his personal effects, tools, materials and artworks.
