A permanent public artwork by Takis, titled Bassin (1988), is on view at Paris La Défense.

Spanning 50 metres on each side, Bassin brings to life an imagined aquatic expanse, seamlessly integrated into the surrounding esplanade. Comprising 49 multicoloured lights of varying heights (ranging from 3.50 to 9 metres), the artwork’s vibrant geometric shapes glow and sway in response to their environment.

Situated on the historic axis, Bassin offers a 360° panorama of one of Europe's leading business districts, as well as an unobstructed view of Paris.

White Cube Paris will present an exhibition of works by Takis in November 2024.
