Theaster Gates, Mona Hatoum, Ibrahim Mahama and Doris Salcedo to participate in Sharjah Biennial 15

Theaster Gates, Mona Hatoum, Ibrahim Mahama and Doris Salcedo are among the artists selected to participate in Sharjah Biennial 15, the 30th anniversary edition.

Conceived by Okwui Enwezor before his death in 2019 and curated by Hoor Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Art Foundation, the biennial, titled ‘Thinking Historically in the Present’, is the result of a long-term effort and intersectional thematic. Originally scheduled for 2021, it will run at more than 15 sites throughout the emirate of Sharjah.
