White Cube presents works by a selection of artists including Darren Almond, David Altmejd, Tracey Emin, Mona Hatoum and Zhou Li at this year's edition of Art Basel Hong Kong.
White Cube highlights from the 2019 edition of Art Basel Hong Kong include:
Zhou Li’s large canvas Wind and Thunder No.2 (2018), featuring the Shenzhen-based artist’s distinctive visual language inspired by Chinese calligraphy and western abstraction. Zhou Li’s first exhibition in London opens at White Cube Bermondsey in April 2019.
Canadian artist David Altmejd’s wall-based plaster works including The Storms (2016), coinciding with the artist’s debut exhibition in Asia at White Cube Hong Kong (26 March – 18 May 2019).
I took You Home (2018) by Tracey Emin, one of her recent figurative paintings which use representations of her body as a conduit for deeply personal memories and emotions.
Mona Hatoum’s Static II (2008), a steel chair covered in a scarlet spider’s web formed of glass beads and wire.
Melting Point (2018) by Darren Almond, a 16-panel painting of fragmented numbers in silver and black.
Further works by Antony Gormley, Gilbert & George, Sarah Morris, Raqib Shaw, Liu Wei and many more will also be presented on the stand.
