White Cube at Art Basel Paris

At Art Basel Paris, White Cube highlights include an outdoor presentation of Takis’s large-scale kinetic sculpture Aeolian (1986), which is on view in the Hôtel de la Marine’s courtyard at Place de la Concorde. The work is presented ahead of the late-Greek artist’s exhibition at White Cube Paris (21 November 2024 – 11 January 2025). Two major works by Takis are currently on public view across the city; Signal (1998) which is on permanent display at Centre Pompidou’s North Terrace and the sprawling installation work Basin which was unveiled at La Défense in 1988.

Notable works on the booth include Finood 2/٢ فنود|Branches of a tree 2 (2024) by Alia Ahmad; Tracey Emin’s sculpture Ascension (2024), coinciding with her show at White Cube Bermondsey (19 September – 10 November 2024) and the painting Edom Becomes Wilderness (1989) by Japanese painter Yoko Matsumoto.

Also featured is a painting by Etel Adnan, Untitled (2016), ahead of her solo show at White Cube New York (22 January – 1 March 2025), Construction N (1956), a work from the late American sculptor Richard Hunt’s ‘Construction [Letter]’ series (1955-56) and Theaster Gates’s Dirty Silver, Tight Strata, (2024) anticipating his solo show at White Cube Bermondsey next year (February – March 2025).
