White Cube is pleased to announce an exhibition of ‘THE CORPSING PICTURES’ at Mason’s Yard, ahead of the unveiling of The Gilbert & George Centre in Spitalfields, East London.

Comprised of three state-of-the-art galleries spanning over 280 square metres, The Gilbert & George Centre will open to the public on 1 April 2023 with an exhibition of ‘THE PARADISICAL PICTURES’. Gilbert & George’s vision for the Centre, which is a registered charity, is for it to both serve as a place for research and scholarship on their art, as well as a major cultural institution in London.

On view at White Cube Mason’s Yard, ‘THE CORPSING PICTURES’ are Gilbert & George’s most profoundly personal and confrontational art to date. They will also be exhibited for the first time in the U.S. at White Cube West Palm Beach, Florida, from 12 April to 13 May 2023.

Follow The Gilbert & George Centre on Instagram or visit the website gilbertandgeorgecentre.org.

- Launched to coincide with the exhibitions at White Cube Mason’s Yard and White Cube West Palm Beach ‘THE CORPSING PICTURES’ fully illustrated catalogue, featuring an essay by writer and novelist Michael Bracewell, as well as four posters designed by the artists, will be available to purchase online at whitecube.com.

- The Gilbert & George Centre, registered charity number 1174981, is located on Heneage Street, just off Brick Lane in the heart of London’s East End. Founded in 2017 by Gilbert & George to create a permanent exhibition space for the artist’s legacy and intended to enrich London’s cultural offering, the Centre is committed to being accessible to everyone in the community. The Centre does not intend on maintaining the gallery in a ticket price, in keeping with the Gilbert & George’s ethos ‘Art for All’, but donations from visitors and interested parties will always be gratefully accepted and will always be applied to the running and upkeep of the Centre. The Gilbert & George Centre will initially open Friday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm with additional opening days extending into 2023.

- The Gilbert & George Centre is designed by SIRS ARCHITECTS, an award winning & design-led boutique studio based in London & Vienna.
