This catalogue marks Tracey Emin’s seminal exhibition at White Cube Bermondsey (October – November 2014). Taking its title from her solo exhibition, the works reproduced here affirm the contemplative and reflective tenor of the show. Harmonising a wealth of different mediums, this publication includes Emin’s enduring return to the canvas as a means of reviewing and revising the self. Interspersed are sampled fragments of the artist’s own hand-written texts which shift in form and register, from the notational and aphoristic to the poetic and narrative, reflecting on experiences of pain, solitude, desire and ecstasy.
