White Cube, a leading contemporary commercial gallery with established locations in Paris, London, Hong Kong, New York and Seoul, is pleased to participate in Art Basel Paris this October.

A highlight of White Cube’s presentation at the fair will be Aeolian (1986), a large-scale kinetic sculpture by Takis, displayed in the courtyard of the Hôtel de la Marine at Place de la Concorde. This work will be shown in anticipation of the artist’s forthcoming exhibition at White Cube Paris, opening in November.

Coinciding with the fair, White Cube will also present the first solo exhibition in Paris by American artist Sylvia Snowden, on view from 15 October 2024.

The Void

White Cube is pleased to present works by Takis. A leading figure in the kinetic and sound art movements, Greek artist Panayiotis Vassilakis (1925–2019), known as Takis, incorporated invisible forces as a fourth dimension in his sculpture, painting and sound works.

Art Basel Paris

At Art Basel Paris, White Cube highlights include an outdoor presentation of Takis’s large-scale kinetic sculpture Aeolian (1986), which is on view in the Hôtel de la Marine’s courtyard at Place de la Concorde.

Notable works on the booth include Finood 2/٢ فنود|Branches of a tree 2 (2024) by Alia Ahmad; Tracey Emin’s sculpture Ascension (2024 and the painting Edom Becomes Wilderness (1989) by Japanese painter Yoko Matsumoto.
